Things are going to get very interesting in the world of wrestling come this fall.
All Elite Wrestling, the new wrestling promotion that was created by Cody Rhodes, Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson have officially signed a television deal with TNT. Starting this Fall, AEW will begin airing weekly episodes of it's promotion on the Turner Network.
President and CEO of All Elite Wrestling, Tony Khan states that “Wrestling fans have wanted – and needed – something different, authentic and better for far too long, AEW is answering the call. AEW is about more than wrestling. It’s about a movement fueled by wrestling fans who have been underserved and perhaps even disappointed by what the industry has produced in recent years."
AEW will apparently offer a less scripted take on sports entertainment and will focus on analytics, win/loss records and public stats to bring a new legitimacy to the wrestling world.
Keep in mind that also happening this fall is WWE sending Smackdown over to FOX and airing new episodes every Friday night. Needless to say, this Fall the landscape of professional wrestling will change drastically.
