But seriously, John Cena is hosting 'Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader' now.
E3 Conferences are UNDERWAY and I have to be completely honest, I’ve been left feeling pretty underwhelmed by Xbox’s showing yesterday. It’s not that I wasn’t happy with some of the games that were announced but it’s becoming clear why Sony decided to opt out of E3 this year - we’re in the midst of a transitional period where next gen is a year and a half away and you kind of want to let your big hitters simmer for a little while longer before going pushing the pedal to the metal and announcing everything you have up your sleeve. You still want to push the current gen so you can continue to sell systems and games this upcoming holiday season - so Xbox played it safe and in doing so didn’t really have a big “wow” moment for us. Everything had either leaked or been previously announced so what we saw was just..okay.
But hey, we got new music from Bon Iver this week so does any of that even matter? Not so much. Also Casey and I had a great episode of the Brew after being off for a week so that makes me happy as well. Plus we still have Ubisoft, Square Enix and Nintendo coming and I have high, high hopes for those.
Anyways! Let’s take a look at the week ahead, shall we?
John Cena’s hosting Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader and that premieres tomorrow so that’s a thing.
Jasper & Errol’s First Time premieres on Viceland on Tuesday and I love those dudes so I’m super excited for that.
Captain Marvel on blu-ray Tuesday! Its great! Watch it!
Baskets on Thursday. Also great! Watch it!
New albums from Bad Books, Two Door Cinema Club and Iron & Wine + Calexico should all be wonderful.
That’s all LOL. SORRY E3 IS TAKING IT’S TOLL ON ME I CAN’T TYPE ANY MORE BULLET POINTS.
See you guys soon!
LISTEN TO THE MORNING BREW!
