Chance the Rapper Shares New Album Details on Fallon

It's been July for a while now so got damn, it's about time.

Guess what, guys? We aren't in the dark anymore.

Chance the Rapper has been saying for months now that he will be dropping his debut album in July and as of yesterday we were 16 days into this first full month of Summer and we still didn't know when to expect it. Well, that all ended last night when Chance the Rapper was the guest on Fallon and offered details about his forthcoming "owbum" in exchange for a presale purchase.

After Jimmy obliged, it was revealed that the album will be titled The Big Day and it will be released next Friday, July 26th - sticking true to his original promise of July.

The title is fitting to what Chance had previously told Zane Lowe in regards to what he was going for sonically with the release. “The whole album has been inspired by the day that I got married and how I was dancing that day,” he explained. “We had a reception with the legendary DJ Pharris and we all danced our hearts out. It was the hardest I ever danced in my life and I’m a great longtime dancer. Everything in it is all the different styles of music that make me want to dance and remind me of that day and remind me of that night and all those people that were there.”

He went on to say, “I’ve been waiting to make an album for a long time. So, the process has been just me being back in the studio all the time. Just making two songs a day. And trying to have fun. But at the same time, I understand that it’s going to be more. More songs. More flexes. More dancing. Just more.”

Now if that doesn't make you excited, I don't know what will. Summer feels about half over at this point so those of you that still want to hang on and embrace it rather than accept the introduction of Fall, The Big Day is sure to give off some Summer vibes and make you wanna dance your way across all those beaches and ice cream shops and barbecues and other Summer things.

The album cover for the release can be seen below and pre-orders are still available at
