Because why the hell not?
Disney has officially taken full control of Hulu after Comcast reached a deal with them stating that they would sell it's stake in Hulu within five years. NBCUniversal will still be able to license content to Hulu until 2024 but by 2022 they will have the right to cancel most of their agreements. NBCUniversal will eventually have their own streaming service to feature their own content but a launch date has not been set.
Once Disney+ launch this fall, that will mean Disney will then own that service, ESPN Plus and now Hulu, which many believe that means Disney will choose to bundle those packages together at a discounted rate.
