Gamescom 2019 Announcement Wrap Up

All of the biggest announcements!

Yesterday there were four major live streams happening which covered everything from Nintendo's biggest indie games to a bunch of old games that we now know are coming to Stadia. But most importantly, we got our first actual gameplay footage from Death Stranding which you should absolutely look up right now because it's wiiiild.


Let's take a look at all of the major announcements.


Nintendo Indie World

• Risk of Rain 2 is coming to the Nintendo Switch this Summer.

• Eastward, a new game from Chucklefish, is coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2020.

• Freedom Finger is coming to the Nintendo Switch this Fall.

• Roki is coming to the Nintendo Switch this Winter.

• Torchlight II is coming to the Nintendo Switch.

• Skater XL is coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2020.

• Youropa is coming to the Nintendo Switch this Winter.

• Superhot is available on the Nintendo Switch today.

• Dungeon Defenders: Awakened is coming to the Nintendo Switch in February 2020.

• The Touryst is coming to the Nintendo Switch this November.

• Skellboy is coming to the Nintendo Switch on December 3rd of this year.• EarthNight is coming to the Nintendo Switch at some point this year.

• The Hotline Miami Collection, which includes both games in the Hotline Miami lineup, is available on the Nintendo Switch today.


And then a sizzle reel was shown with a bunch of other games that are coming to the system but honestly it moved too fast to type it all up so just go watch the video.

Oh, and apparently there was one last thing - Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition, a former Xbox exclusive title, is coming to the Nintendo Switch September 27th. Called that.


Inside Xbox:

• A new trailer for Blair Witch was shown and will arrive on Xbox Game Pass on August 30th.

• Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Ape Out, Age of Empire: Definitive Edition, Stellaris and Devil May Cry 5 are all coming to Xbox Game Pass.

• New DLC for Human Fall Flat called ‘Steam’ launches on August 27th.

• Gears POP! Will be available on mobile devices on August 22nd.

• The first trailer for the MyCareer mode for NBA 2K20 was shown.

• A new PVP mode and dedicated servers with shared progression was announced for Ghost Recon: Breakpoint.

• Gameplay for Borderlands 3 was shown featuring a new playable character named FLAK.

• PUBG Season 4: Aftermath was revealed and will launch on August 27th. Cross-Play for the game will launch in early October after a beta period.

• A new trailer for Wasteland 3 was shown.

• Two new Xbox Controllers were shown in Night Ops Camo and Sport Blue.

• A new trailer for Empire of Sin was shown - the game will launch in 2020.

• Vigor is out of early access and available to play for free right now.

• A new trailer for the Surge 2 was shown.

• A look at Destiny 2’s upcoming DLC, Shadowkeep, was shown. The game launches on October 1st.

• A trailer for Metro Exodus: The Two Colonels was shown and will launch on August 20th.

• Gears 5’s Horde Mode was shown for the first time.


Google Stadia:

• Cyberpunk 2077 is coming to Google Stadia.

• A new trailer for Destiny 2: Shadowkeep was shown and will be available to all Stadia players.

• Kine is coming to Google Stadia.

• Darksiders: Genesis is coming to Google Stadia.

• Orc’s Must Die 3 is coming to Google Stadia as an exclusive.

• Windjammers 2 is coming to Google Stadia.

• Destroy All Humans is coming to Google Stadia.

• Mortal Kombat 11 is coming to Google Stadia.

• Superhot is coming to Google Stadia alongside Superhot Mind Control Delete, a new expansion of the original game.

• Farming Simulator 19: Platinum Edition is coming to Google Stadia.

• Samurai Showdown is coming to Google Stadia.

• GRID is coming to Google Stadia.

• Doom Eternal is coming to Google Stadia (but we knew that already).

• Attack on Titan 2 is coming to Google Stadia.

• Elder Scrolls Online is coming to Google Stadia.

• Borderlands 3 is coming to Google Stadia.

• Watch Dogs: Legion is coming to Google Stadia.


Opening Night Live:

• The first trailer for Gears 5’s campaign was shown.

• THQ Nordic revealed that Comanche is coming back as a team based multiplayer game.

• Gameplay for Need For Speed Heat was shown and an app can be downloaded starting today to customize your vehicle.

• Kerbal Space Program 2 was revealed and will be releasing in 2020.

• Little Nightmares 2 was announced and will be coming to PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch In 2020.

• New gameplay for Predator: Hunting Grounds was show.

• Monster Hunter World: Iceborne gameplay was show.

• The Cycle was revealed and early access begins today.

• A new trailer for Life Is Strange 2: Episode 4 was shown.

• A new strategy game from Sega and Amplitude called Humankind was announced.

• A new mode for Borderlands 3 called Proving Grounds was announced where you can accept missions with optional objectives to give you additional loot.

• A trailer for Everspace 2 was shown and it was announced that the game will be released in 2021.

• The Witcher 3 will be coming to the Nintendo Switch on October 15th.

• A shirt trailer for FIFA 20’s Volta story mode was shown shown.

• Disintegration was revealed with a new trailer and a release date of 2020.

• A new trailer for Darksiders Genesis was shown.

• More Destiny 2: Shadowkeep footage was shown.

• A new game called Remothered: Broken Porcelain was announced.

• Erica, an interactive thriller is out now on PlayStation 4.

• Anno 18 will release new DLC on September 10th of this year.

• Port Royale 2020 is coming in 2020.

• Call of Duty Modern Warfare will have a 2v2 alpha available to play on Playstation 4 this weekend.

• Two new characters were shown from Death Stranding as well as the first gameplay footage which features, I shit you now, our main character taking a piss.
