Nintendo E3 2019 Announcements

Let's just get this out of the way - Animal Crossing was delayed.

Nintendo held their E3 2019 Nintendo Direct this morning where they showcased their gigantic lineup of games that are all releasing this year and beyond including The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, Animal Crossing and more. Check out the full rundown below!

  • In a cinematic trailer it was announced that The Hero from Dragon Quest will be the next DLC character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate along with other skins, a new stage and music.

  • A trailer for Dragon Quest XI for the Nintendo Switch was shown with a release date of September 27th.

  • Doug Bowser, head of Nintendo of America was then introduced in his first Pokemon Direct.

  • A new trailer for Luigi’s Mansion 3 was shown which takes place in a hotel and features new moves such as the slam, suction shot, burst and a Gooigi function. A new mode was also announced called Scarescraper which can be played co-op or online. A release window of 2019 was given.

  • A turn-based strategy game taking place in the Dark Crystal universe called Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance Tactics was shown and will be available in 2019.

  • The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening was shown for the first time since its original reveal and it will contain some sort of dungeon-maker. The game will be released on September 20th, 2019.

  • Trials of Mana was announced and will be coming in early 2020. The original three games are available now on the Nintendo Switch.

  • The Witcher 3: Complete Edition was shown and will be coming to the Nintendo Switch this year.

  • A new trailer for Fire Emblem: Three Houses was shown - the game will be available on July 26th.

  • A live action trailer of two people playing Resident Evil in an abandoned building aired in order to announced that Resident Evil 5 and 6 are coming to the system this fall.

  • A trailer for No More Heroes III was shown an announced as the first 2020 release title.

  • Contra: Rogue Corp is coming to the Nintendo Switch and will be released on September 24th.

  • A new trailer for Daemon X Machina was shown and it was revealed that the game will be released on September 13th.

  • A trailer for Danzer Dragoon was shown and given a release date of this Winter.

  • It was announced that certain functions of the Pokemon Plus would be of use within Pokemon Sword & Shield, but cannot be used for gameplay.

  • A new trailer for Astral Chain was shown - the game will launch on August 30th.

  • A new game from Romero Games called Empire of Sin was announced and given a 2020 release window.

  • A new trailer for Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order was shown. The game launches on July 19th. An expansion pack will be available this Fall.

  • Cadence of Hyrule was shown and it will be available on June 13th for the Nintendo Switch.

  • A trailer for Mario vs Sonic at the Olympic Games was shown as a Nintendo Switch exclusive - the game will launch this November.

  • A new trailer for forthcoming Nintendo Switch Animal Crossing title was shown called Animal Crossing: New Horizons and a release date of March 20th, 2020 was given.

  • Spyro the Dragon: The Re-Ignited Trilogy is coming to the Nintendo Switch on September 3rd.

  • A highlight reel was shown announcing some other titles that are on the way to the Nintendo Switch.

  • Banjo Kazooie were announced as new DLC characters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate along with a new stage and music. They will be available for download this Fall.

  • The Direct closed with a cinematic trailer for a sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. No release window was given.
