It's Baseball season!
First off, I will apologize for the lack of updates between Wednesday and Friday of last week and the HELLA late New Release Friday post - I was in Atlantic City for a business trip and didn't have much time to get things posted. My apologies! But we back now so let's talk about my recommendations:
For music, I highly recommend the new single from Tame Impala - it's already one of the best songs of the year. I also think you should check the debut album from Wallows. I haven't gotten to listen to it all too much at this point but it's definitely something I'm excited to dive into this week.
Over the weekend myself, my wife and the Funny Business cast all went to see Us - you'll get our full review on the next podcast but here's a spoiler: we all loved it. A lot.
The game I recommend this week is a cop-out. I didn't play Sekio - it's not my type of game. However, I've watched some streams of it, read a few reviews and spoken to those that have played it and it's safe to say that it's everything everyone wanted it to be. So I'm recommending it anyways. There are no rules! Fuck it!
And now for the week ahead:
It's Baseball season! Finally! Opening day is Thursday but MLB The Show 19 comes out Tuesday and I can't wait to rip shit up as the Yankees. Definitely count on some streams over on our Twitch page this week of some Baseball.
Generation Zero is a game that caught Casey's attention - we might look deeper into it once we see some reviews and the reception it gets out of the gate.
FX's What We Do In The Shadows looks hilarious. I can't wait to check that out on Wednesday.
That show Abby's doesn't look very good but what is interesting is the fact that it's recorded live in an outdoor setting - so I'll check it out but I'm not sure if it's going to grab me. Here's to hoping it does though. Not that I need another show to watch during the week though.
Dumbo is yet another thing where I want to see reviews before I go see it. I feel like it's gonna be dark and sad - which is great, but if it's those things but only a 6 or 7, I can wait until it's out on demand - but if it's those things and a 9 or 10, I am in AF.
That Yoshi game looks like fun as well and I had it pre-ordered at one point but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that it simply looks too easy and without any sort of challenge I'm not sure how attached to it I'll get.
Trailer Park Boys: The Animated Series is something I'm really happy about. The seasons started to get a little stale and this seemed like the perfect way to mix things up again. I can't wait to see how they handle the show in this type of setting and plan on spending my entire Sunday watching this.
So besides all of these things releasing this week, it's also going to be a giant week of announcements as well. Today is the Apple Event where Apple is sure to talk about their forthcoming streaming service, tonight is PlayStation's State of Play event where they will show off what they have in store for 2019, tomorrow is XBox's ID@Xbox Game Pass event where they will show off what indie games are coming to Xbox Game Pass and this weekend is PAX East where we are sure to get a Borderlands 3 reveal and then some.
Whew! What a week.
Enjoy, everyone - and Casey and I will talk to you all about it this Sunday at 8 AM for The Morning Brew!
