Rosemary Radar (4/19/19)

Get ready, everyone! Album of the year coming through!

Endgame was WILD. Like what a perfect movie and perfect end to one of the longest running sagas of all time. I couldn’t have imagined a better film that what I watched - Alex, Kevin and I plan on doing a spoiler cast on the movie this week so stay tuned for that to get my full impression but got DAMN.

You’ll also hear me tell the story about how fucking LeSean McCoy spoiled the ending for me - straight up hope that dude tears his ACL this season because of it.

In other news, Days Gone is polarizing as hell, Kevin Abstract is still killing it and Taylor Swift’s new song makes me happy and sad at the same time. Spelling is fun!

Let’s take a look at my recommendations:

  • As we discussed in this weeks episode of The Morning Brew, the new Kevin Abstract and Local Natives albums are really good. Easily two of my favorite records of the year thus far. Kevin never disappoints - whether solo or along with Brockhampton and Local Natives made a giant leap forward from their last album which I didn’t particularly love as much as the other two.

  • As for what you should watch this week - lol it’s Endgame you idiot.

  • And even though I haven’t completely gathered my thoughts on it, Days Gone will still remain my recommendation for what you should play because it genuinely is a cool game that I am enjoying most of the time, it just doesn’t do anything particularly special to set it apart from any other game that’s similar to it. Regardless, I think a lot of people will really enjoy their time with it as long as you don’t constantly compare it to what else is out there.

  • Vampire God Damn Weekend is releasing the ALBUM OF THE YEAR on Friday. Father of the Bride - their first album in like six years finally releases in just four days and I simply cannot wait. My expectations are through the roof and if Pitchfork doesn’t give this thing over a 9 I’m gonna lose it.

  • Not listed on the Radar is the gameplay reveal for Borderlands 3 hosted by Kinda Funny’s Greg, Frank and Andrea. I’m pretty excited to see some more details about this game - especially considering E3 is just over a month away and leaks and initial reveal are going to start popping up left and right. It’s smart of them to take their moment before everything gets crazy.

  • The Swords of Ditto is coming to Switch on Thursday along with new DLC called Mormo’s Curse and I’m really happy that game is getting a second chance because I absolutely adored is last year when I bought it for PS4. Everyone should check it out next week!

  • Tuca and Bertie hits Netflix on Friday and looks wonderful. The art style is really reminiscent of BoJack Horseman except with two young ladies taking the lead and I hope it’s as good as it looks like it can be.

  • And lastly, Long Shot looks like it’s going to be the best comedy of the year. Although Endgame was pretty funny. But really, Seth Rogen movies are my kind of humor and this one looks charming as well and loads of fun.

I feel like there won’t be a release as big as Endgame until Star Wars Episode IX and that’s kind of okay but also a total bummer. Sure there will be some substantial releases between now and then but just nothing at this sort of scale. Anyways, that’s enough about Endgame.

Endgame Endgame Endgame.
