What Was Announced At PlayStation's State of Play?

The Last of Us in the Red Dead Redemption universe, got it.

Sure, we didn't get Skate 4 or Grand Theft Auto 6 BUT NOBODY EXPECTED TO, RIGHT? These PlayStation State of Play's have always been minor updates - some announcements of smaller games, and a bigger reveal to end the show, even though those bigger reveals aren't ever much of a secret.

Despite the fact that we all knew that we'd get a release date for The Last of Us Part II during this showing, I'm not certain we were prepared for the trailer that we received which essentially had everything you could ever want in a trailer - story beats, cinematics, gameplay, and a surprise ending.

The Last Of Us Part II will win so many awards next year it's not even funny. But what's the most interesting is that it's also coming out the same year that Cyberpunk 2077 is coming out. And Halo Infinite. And possibly the sequel to Breath of the Wild. How is anybody going to figure out what their game of the year is?! Between those titled, cloud gaming, and a new generation of consoles, 2020 is going to be an insane year.

Anyways, whew - here's everything that was announced during the show:

• A new game called Humanity was announced that will be available in 2020 from Enhance & THA LTD.

• We got a new look at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s story mode and the Special Ops: Survival Mode which will be available first on PS4.
